Baling Hay at the Abbey

Surely you've heard the phrase "Make hay while the sun shines." On a working farm, it's an important reality: if the hay is moist when it is rolled into bales, much of the cattle's winter food may be ruined.

After several days with nice drenching downpours - welcomed by the gardeners - Sister Maria Walburga was glad for a full day of sun for baling the newly mown hay. The bright green fields and round bales create a landscape that proclaims the bounty of God's provident care.
