A reflection for workers by Mother Maria-Michael Newe, OSB (cf Mass reading for today 1Jn 2:22-28).
Well today it's back to work-- but not really. In one of our Matin's responsories this morning we had "Keep your eyes fixed on Heavenly things." And as I read that, I reflected that the Three Kings are coming. They kept their eyes fixed on eternity, and were led to the manger of the Christ Child.
In today's first reading we hear, "Let what you heard in the beginning remain in you." (1Jn 2:24). Each of us, in our beginnings heard the words of Baptism-- our "anointing." So this is a time to remember what we promised and to keep it fresh.
