A reflection for the Gospel reading for June 26, 2008 (Mt. 7:21-29) by Mother Maria-Michael, Newe, OSB.
The only flesh the Gospels have is ours. We are the rock on which Christ is building a home for Himself. If there is anyone building on you with a Gospel other than the one Christ gave to His apostles, you have become decomposed granite. Your house will not stand firm through the storms of life. How do you know if you are rock or sand? By what fortifies you during times of trial. If it is God's Word, you are in good shape.
